About India Tourism Development Corporation – Tourism in Delhi
Our office is tucked away in Safdarjung Enclave at A-1/170. It’s a busy part of New Delhi, but we like it here. We’ve been part of the tourism scene for quite some time, dealing with all the bits and pieces that go into travel. It’s not always glamorous. Most of the time, it’s just staff sitting at desks, answering phones, and trying to figure out schedules. We deal with a lot of different departments. Sometimes the printers jam right when we need a permit, or the phones won't stop ringing during lunch hour. We don’t have a big fancy lobby with waterfalls or anything like that. It’s just a practical workspace where we try to get things organized for people visiting India. Safdarjung is a good neighborhood, though parking can be a real headache if you arrive after ten in the morning. We spend a lot of time on emails and coordination. It’s a government-related setup, so there’s a fair amount of procedure to follow every day. We just show up, do the work, and try to make sure nothing gets missed in the shuffle. It's a lot of coordination between different cities and hotels. Some days are slower than others, but usually, there's a pile of papers waiting on someone's desk. We just keep at it, one day at a time, from this spot in Delhi. It is not always perfect, but we get the work done eventually.
