Our office is at 522, Sunlight Colony-2, over in the Harinagar area near Ashram. If you’ve ever been to this part of New Delhi-14, you know the traffic around Ashram can be a real test of patience. We’ve been here for quite a while, operating under the name India Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. Even though the name sounds very formal, we are just a group of people working in a modest office. It’s not a fancy setup with leather chairs. We have regular desks, old files, and we drink way too much coffee to stay awake during the long afternoons. Dealing with tourism means we are constantly looking at schedules and trying to figure out a direct way to move people around the country. It’s messy work sometimes. Sunlight Colony is a place where everyone knows everyone, so we get a lot of locals just walking in to ask for advice or to see what’s new. We don’t have a big marketing team or anything like that. It’s just us answering emails and making phone calls. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with the paperwork to worry about that. We just focus on the daily tasks and try to keep things moving along. It’s practical work, and we like the rhythm of it, even when things get a bit disorganized. We just keep the doors open and the phones ready.
