Down in Darya Ganj, things move at their own pace. We are tucked away in Gali Tajeran, specifically at 1601 in Suiwalan. It is an old part of New Delhi, so the lanes are narrow and full of life. You can hear the sounds of the market and the neighbors all day long. This building is where we spend our time. It’s a place that sees a lot of different people coming through for various reasons. Sometimes it’s quiet, and other times there’s a lot going on. The history of this neighborhood is everywhere you look. Working here means dealing with the realities of an old city, like the tight parking or the way the mailman has to find his way through the alleys. We don't have a big corporate lobby. It’s more about the actual space and what people do when they are here. The rooms have their own character. We try to keep things running smoothly, even when the power fluctuates or the heat gets intense in the middle of the day. There is always tea being made somewhere nearby. It’s a local spot, really. We see scholars, students, and just folks from the street who have been around here for generations. It’s not about being polished; it’s just about being a part of this community in Darya Ganj. We keep the doors open and see what the day brings for everyone.
