About India International Centre – Tourism in Delhi
We are over in Janak Puri at C2A/106. This is where India International Centre has its space in New Delhi. It’s a residential block mostly, so it’s a bit quieter than the main markets, but it still has its share of noise. We have a lot of rooms filled with books, papers, and folders. People come here for all sorts of reasons, maybe to look something up or attend a small meeting we’re having. It’s not a fancy glass building. It’s more like a house that’s been turned into a work space. We spend a lot of time organizing things and making sure the schedules are right. Sometimes the chai is too sweet and sometimes it’s too cold, but it keeps us going. The staff here has been around for years, so we all know each other’s habits. We don't really do much advertising. People just find us by word of mouth or because they live nearby. We handle a lot of cultural stuff and paperwork that most people would find boring, but it’s important to us. There are always stacks of newspapers lying around and the fans are always humming in the summer. We just try to keep the place running smoothly and help whoever walks through the front door. It’s a simple setup, but it’s ours and we’ve been doing this for a long time now without much fuss.
