You might think of the big cultural spots when you hear India Habitat Centre, but we are located at 3617 Katra Dina Baig in Lal Kuan. This is right in the heart of Old Delhi near Hamdard Marg, so it’s a totally different world. The streets are very narrow and always packed with people, carts, and the smell of street food. Finding our place for the first time is usually a bit of a challenge for anyone not from around here. It’s a very old building, and the walls have that thick, solid feel that you don't get in new constructions. We work in a space that’s been around for ages. It’s noisy outside from morning until night, with bells ringing and people shouting, but inside we just focus on the tasks at hand. We deal with a lot of papers and logistics that keep things moving. There’s no fancy elevator or modern lobby here; you just walk in and find us at our tables. We drink a lot of tea from the shop downstairs because they make it just right. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we have a lot of deliveries, but we’ve learned how to use the space we have. Working in Lal Kuan means you’re part of the history of the city, even if you’re just doing regular office work. It’s honest, busy, and very crowded, but it’s where we are.
