Independent

I work out of a second-floor space at C-332 in Nehru Vihar. It’s a pretty standard residential area in Delhi, near Timarpur. Being independent means I don't have a big company name over the door. It’s just me in this office space. The walk up the stairs can be a bit much in the Delhi heat, but once I'm inside with the fan on, it’s not so bad. Nehru Vihar is a place with a lot of students and small businesses, so there’s always noise coming from the street. My desk is usually a bit of a mess with notebooks and my laptop. I handle my own schedule and do my work without a boss watching over me. It takes a lot of discipline to keep things moving when you’re on your own. I've been in this spot for a while now, and the neighbors at C-332 are used to seeing me come and go at odd hours. The Post-Timarpur area has its own charm, even if it’s just regular old buildings and narrow roads. I don't have any fancy mission statements or corporate goals. I just try to finish my tasks every day and keep my clients happy so I can pay the rent. It’s a simple, honest way to make a living in the city. Some days are quiet and others are non-stop, but that’s just how independent work goes when you're starting from a small room in Delhi-54. It’s just me and my work.
