Independent News Service Pvt. Ltd. is tucked away over here in Molarband Extn, specifically at House Number 991 on Street No. E - 40/2. If you know Badarpur, you know it can get pretty crowded and loud. Our office reflects that energy. News doesn't really stop, so neither do we. There is always someone typing away or arguing about a headline. It’s not one of those glass-and-steel offices you see in movies; it’s a real place in a real New Delhi neighborhood. We spend a lot of time drinking strong tea and looking at screens. The walls are covered in notes and old calendars. People come in and out all day, some bringing in stories and others just trying to get the technical stuff to work. It gets a little messy sometimes, especially when there’s a big story breaking and everyone is shouting at once. We don’t have a fancy lobby or anything like that. You just walk in and you’re right in the middle of it. Most of the staff live nearby, so we’re all pretty used to the local pace. It’s a lot of hard work and long hours, but it’s what we do. We don’t try to make it sound more important than it is. We’re just a bunch of people in Badarpur trying to keep up with what’s happening in the world and getting it written down for anyone who wants to know.
