I'Lario[Italian Coffee Bar]

You can find us on the first floor in Room N-2, right near Well Number One in Katwaria Sarai. It is a bit of an unusual spot for a coffee bar, tucked away in this part of New Delhi, but we like the vibe here. The room is not very big, so it gets the smell of roasted coffee beans real strong as soon as you walk up the stairs. We spend a lot of time messing with the espresso machine and trying to get the steam wand to behave. It is a simple setup with a few stools and a counter where we serve the drinks. Most of our customers are people from the nearby offices or students who need a break from their books. We do not have a huge menu, just the basic stuff we know how to make well. Sometimes the milk delivery is late, which throws things off for a bit, but we manage. The floors are a bit creaky and the lighting is just okay, but it feels like a real place, not some plastic chain store. We put on some music and just keep the coffee flowing throughout the afternoon. It gets a bit crowded during the lunch hour, and sometimes people have to wait on the landing. We try to remember how everyone likes their drink, though we forget sometimes when it is busy. It is just a small business run by people who actually like the smell of a good grind.
