We are located in a place called Bhaiyapatti in Bihar, with the pincode 847230. It’s a different kind of office compared to the big cities. Being here means we see a lot of local people from the village and surrounding areas who come in to talk about their life insurance. The office isn't very big, and it can get quite dusty because of the roads outside. We spend a lot of time explaining the different papers and forms to people who might not be used to all the technical words. There is a lot of handwriting involved here, filling out registers and checking IDs. The heat in Bihar during the summer can be very strong, so we try to keep the windows open to catch a breeze, but mostly it’s just the ceiling fan turning. We have a few chairs for visitors to sit on while they wait their turn. Most days are steady, not too rushed, which gives us time to talk to everyone who walks through the door. We handle the ICICI Prudential stuff right here, so people don’t have to travel all the way to a bigger town. It’s a simple life in Bhaiyapatti. We know most of our neighbors and the people who pass by our building every day. It’s just us here, working through the files and making sure the records are kept safe in our cabinets. It is honest work for our local community.
