Our office is over in Chhatarpur Hills, specifically at 564/3. It’s a bit of a climb sometimes, but the Mehrauli area has a lot of history around it. We spend most of our time sitting at desks handling paperwork and talking to people about their plans. Insurance is a lot of reading fine print and explaining things over and over. It isn't the most exciting work, but it keeps us busy from morning till evening. The office gets a bit dusty because of the construction nearby, but we try to keep it tidy. We have tea around four, and that is when we usually catch up on the neighborhood gossip. Sometimes people get confused finding us in the hills, so we spend a lot of time on the phone giving directions. We aren't trying to be anything we aren't. We just work here, process the claims, and make sure the files are in the right cabinets. The ceiling fan in the corner makes a clicking noise that we’ve just gotten used to. Most of the folks who work here live close by, so we know the local bus routes and the shortcut through the market. Dealing with life insurance means we see people when they are thinking about the future, which can be heavy. We just take it one day at a time, filling out forms and answering the landline.
