This is the IBM office at C-7, Manas Appartments in Mayur Vihar Phase 1. It’s in New Delhi- 110091. It’s a bit of an unusual spot for a big name, being in an apartment complex, but that’s where we are. It’s more of a quiet residential area compared to the big glass buildings in other parts of the city. We do our technical work from here. There are computers and desks set up in the rooms. It feels more like a home office than a corporate headquarters. The neighbors are mostly families going about their business. We try not to be too loud during the day. Mayur Vihar is a nice enough area, pretty well connected to the rest of Delhi by the metro. We spend our days on the computers, solving problems and writing code. It’s a lot of sitting and staring at screens for hours. Sometimes we go downstairs to the local market for lunch or a quick tea. It’s not a fancy life, just a job like any other. The apartments are a bit old but they work fine for us. We have everything we need to get the work done. No big signs out front. If you didn't have the address, you might walk right past the building. It’s a practical way to have a workspace without the crazy rent of a high-rise building. Just a few of us working together here in this flat. We keep to ourselves and focus on our daily tasks.
