We work out of 215, Vasant Apartments. It is right near Vasant Enclave in the Vasant Vihar area of New Delhi. It is an apartment building, so it doesn't feel like a cold office tower. You have to walk through the main gate and past the security guard who usually knows everyone by sight. Inside the apartment, we have turned the rooms into workspaces. There are computers everywhere and cables running along the floor boards. Sometimes the air conditioner makes a rattling noise, but it keeps us cool enough. Being in Vasant Vihar is nice because the streets are wider and there are more trees than in other parts of Delhi. We get our lunch from the local market nearby or someone brings a dabba from home. Ibm has a lot of people working in different places, but this is our little corner. We handle a lot of data and emails all day long. The windows look out onto the other blocks of the complex. It is a quiet place to get things done. We don't have a fancy lobby with a logo on the wall. It’s just a regular door with a small nameplate. Most of us have been working here long enough to know exactly which floor tile is loose. We start at nine and usually leave when the sun is going down. It’s just a normal job in a normal neighborhood.
