Our place is at No: 47 on Othavadai Street in Kodambakkam. If you know Chennai, you know this area is always moving and it gets incredibly hot in the afternoons. The office is a simple one, right there on the street, and we’ve even got the old landline number 044-23720065 if anyone still uses those. We’re part of the IAF setup here, but it’s not a big sprawling airfield. It’s a local office where we handle the paperwork and the day-to-day things that keep the wheels turning. The building is an older style, typical of Chennai, with some fans that struggle against the humidity. We don't have a big lobby or anyone to open the door for you. You just walk in and find us at our desks, usually with a cup of strong coffee nearby. The street outside is narrow, so parking is always a headache, and you can hear the sounds of the neighborhood all day long. We don’t use any corporate talk or try to sound more important than we are. It’s just a group of us doing our jobs in a part of the city we know well. Some of the files have been around for years, and the desks are a bit scratched up. It’s a practical, honest way to work. We aren't here to make big speeches; we’re just here to make sure the tasks for the day get finished before the sun goes down.
