I work in the Instrument Section AEB at the Air Force Station in Hindan. If you are familiar with Ghaziabad, you know the Hindan station is a pretty big part of the landscape here. Our specific corner is where we deal with the technical side of things, specifically instruments. It is a lot of sitting at benches and looking at small parts or screens to make sure everything is calibrated right. The atmosphere is pretty focused, though we do have our fair share of jokes when the work allows for it. The weather in Ghaziabad can be pretty brutal, so we are always glad for the days when the air conditioning is actually working in the shop. We follow the 201204 pin code for our mail, but mostly we are just focused on the tasks inside the gates. It is not like a regular office job where you go home at five every single day; sometimes things need fixing and you stay until they are done. We take care of the equipment because we know how important it is for the overall operations here at IAF. There are no fancy decorations in our section, just tools and manuals and the smell of solder sometimes. We’ve been here a long time and the routine is what keeps us going. It is honest work and we try to do it right every single day without complaining too much about the noise.
