Hutch

Running this Hutch point in Delhi means we see all kinds of people coming in with all sorts of phone problems every single day. The shop is just a simple space where we keep the counters clean and the stools ready for anyone who needs to sit down while we figure out their connection. It gets quite warm in the afternoons so the small wall fan is always running at full speed. We don't have a big corporate team here, just a few of us who know how to handle the recharges and the new SIM card activations. People usually come in complaining that their data isn't working or they lost their phone, and we just do what we can to help them out without making a big fuss. Delhi is a huge city but this little corner feels quite familiar to us now after all this time. You can see the street life through the front window and sometimes we just watch the bikes go by when things are quiet. It’s a lot of repetitive work like typing in numbers and checking documents, but it keeps us occupied. We try to keep the place tidy but there is always a bit of dust coming in from the road outside. It is just a normal day at Hutch where we deal with the basics of mobile phones and try to get everyone back on their way as quickly as we possibly can.
