We’ve been running this place for quite a while now. It’s mostly just us keeping things tidy and making sure folks have a spot to sleep when they’re passing through. The building has seen better days but it holds up okay for what we need. We usually spend the whole morning getting the linens done and checking the plumbing in the back rooms because those pipes tend to act up whenever it gets cold out. Most of the people who come here are just looking for a quiet night and maybe some decent water pressure in the shower. It isn’t fancy at all. We just keep the keys at the front desk and try to stay on top of the constant repairs that an old building needs. Sometimes the driveway gets a bit muddy when it rains, so we have to go out and shovel some gravel over the holes so nobody gets their car stuck. Our address is listed as being in the resume, which sounds a bit odd but that’s how we’ve got it written down in our old books. It’s just a small operation. There are only a few of us working here, mostly family and a neighbor who helps out with the cleaning on the busy weekends. We don’t have a big lobby or anything like that, just a few chairs and a TV that mostly gets the local news and sports. We try to keep things simple because that’s what we know how to do. If someone needs an extra towel or a heavy blanket, they just have to ask.
