Hotel Vikram

Hotel Vikram is located in Raj Nagar-II, which is part of Palam Colony in New Delhi. The address is actually a house, H.No.Rzg244, and it belongs to Mr. G.P. Tiwari’s family. It’s not one of those huge hotels you see in the city center with a hundred staff members in uniforms. It’s more of a local setup right in the middle of a busy residential neighborhood. Since we are in Palam, you can hear the planes taking off and landing from the airport pretty clearly most of the time. The streets around here are quite narrow and they can get pretty dusty when the wind picks up in the evening. We spend a lot of our morning just tidying up the entrance area and making sure everything is in place for whoever might be staying with us that night. It’s a very simple operation. We don’t have a massive kitchen or a gym, just basic rooms for people who need a place to sleep that isn't too expensive. Most of our day is spent handling the keys and talking to the neighbors who walk by. It feels more like a home than a business most days. We have to be careful with the electricity and the water usage, like everyone else in this part of Delhi. It’s just how things are run around here. We don’t have any fancy signs out front. People usually find us because they know the area or a friend told them where to go.
