Our place is located on the second floor of a building in Guru Arjun Nagar. It’s not one of those massive hotels you see in the movies; it’s more of a local spot where people stay when they have business in the area. We’ve been at 2157/2B2 for a few years now. The hallway is a bit narrow, and the stairs can be a workout if you have heavy bags, but we try to help out when we can. My cousin and I take turns at the front desk, which is really just a wooden table near the entrance. We spend a lot of time cleaning the rooms and making sure the linens are washed properly. It’s a lot of work for a small crew. Sometimes the water pressure gets low, or a lightbulb flickers out, so I’m usually carrying a toolbox around. We get all sorts of travelers coming through, some staying for a night and others for a week. It’s interesting to hear where everyone is coming from. We don't have a big fancy kitchen, but there are plenty of food stalls just down the street if guests get hungry. The neighborhood is fairly quiet at night, which is nice for sleeping. We just focus on keeping the rooms tidy and being helpful to anyone who walks through the door. It’s a straightforward life here in the city, just running a small hotel and keeping things going for the guests.
