Hotel Shanti Palace

We are over at D211 in the Laxman Singh Complex. It is right in the Murnika area of New Delhi. Hotel Shanti Palace is where we work every day, looking after the rooms and the guests who come through. It’s a busy place because Murnika is always full of people. The building itself is part of the complex, so it’s easy to find once you get into the right lane. We aren’t one of those massive luxury hotels with gold everywhere. We’re just a practical place to stay. The lobby is simple and we spend a lot of time cleaning and making sure everything is ready. Sometimes things break and we have to fix them quickly. The staff here is like a small family. We’ve worked together for a long time at D211. New Delhi can be a loud city, but we try to keep things calm inside. We don’t have a big corporate office or anything like that. It’s just us running the desk and the rooms. People stay with us for all sorts of reasons, some for work and some just passing through. We see a lot of different faces every week. It can be tiring, but it’s what we do. The Laxman Singh Complex has a lot of other shops and offices, so there’s always life around us. We just keep the doors open and do our daily jobs as best as we can. It's just simple, honest work for us.
