About Hotel Shanti Palace, Mahipalpur, New Delhi – Tourism in Delhi
I've been working at Hotel Shanti Palace for a while now. Even though the hotel is over in Mahipalpur, some of our main paperwork and family connections go back to Vill. Richali in Mandi. It’s a quiet spot up there in Himachal, a bit of a change from the Delhi noise. My family handles the things from the Sarkaghat area. We mostly get people who are catching flights because the airport is so close to the Delhi building. It isn't a fancy palace like the name says, just a regular place to sleep. Most days I’m just making sure the linens are clean and the water is running hot enough for guests. The kitchen gets busy around seven in the evening. Sometimes the Wi-Fi acts up when it rains, and I have to go reset the router. I grew up around Mandi, so I try to keep that same quiet vibe here, even though it’s hard with all the traffic outside in Mahipalpur. We keep a few chairs out front where the staff sits when things are slow. It’s just a small team of us. We don't have a big marketing team or anything like that. We just open the doors and help whoever walks in with their luggage. Sometimes people book online, and sometimes they just show up late at night from the airport looking tired. We just give them the key and let them rest. It's straightforward work for us and we just keep it moving every day.
