Hotel Paras, Mohali, Chandigarh

Even though the name says Hotel Paras, Mohali, Chandigarh, we are actually operating out of South Delhi. It sounds a bit funny to some people, but that is just how the records are set up. We are situated in a part of the city that is always moving. Running a hotel business from here involves a lot of phone calls and coordinating with people who are traveling. Our team is small and we’ve been working together for a long time now. We don't use any big words to describe what we do. We just provide rooms and try to make sure everything works like it should. The plumbing, the lights, the check-ins—it’s all part of the daily grind. Being in South Delhi gives us a good base because it is close to a lot of things. The traffic around here can be a real headache in the evenings, but we are used to it by now. We spend our days checking ledgers and talking to guests who are coming from all over. It isn't a glamorous job, but it’s ours. We don't have a fancy lobby with marble everywhere, just a functional space where work gets done. Sometimes we share a meal in the back office and talk about how the city has changed. It is a local business run by local people who understand what travelers need. We just keep things moving one day at a time, making sure everyone gets a decent night of sleep.
