Hotel Kalpana

Hotel Kalpana is located at 183 Old Mumfordganj. This is in the Subhas Nagar area of Allahabad. It’s an older part of the city, so the streets have that lived-in feel. We’ve been here for a while. The building itself has its own character, though it’s definitely not one of those modern glass hotels you see nowadays. We have some rooms and a front desk where we keep the register. It’s a simple setup. We spend a lot of time making sure things are in order for whoever comes to stay. It gets pretty busy during the festivals or when there are big events in town. The post office is nearby, and the whole neighborhood is full of people going about their business. We don't have a big corporate team running things. It’s just us. Sometimes the plumbing acts up or a light bulb needs changing, and we just handle it. The lobby is small and has a few chairs for guests to wait. We don't do much in terms of advertising; people usually find us because they know the area or they’ve stayed here before. It’s a basic, honest place to stay in a historic part of Allahabad. We just try to keep it clean and make sure the guests have what they need without any fuss.
