Hotel Ista, Amritsar

Even though the name mentions Amritsar, we are actually located in Dehradun at 68/6, Narishilp Mandir Marg. It’s a bit confusing, I know. We are in the Uttaranchal area, and it’s a pretty nice spot near the mountains. We have a few rooms and a small staff that keeps things tidy. It’s an old building, so it has some character, but it also means there’s always something that needs fixing. We spend a lot of our time checking people in and out. The street outside, Narishilp Mandir Marg, can get quite busy with people going to the temple or the market. We don't have a big lobby or a fancy restaurant. We just offer a place to stay for people visiting Dehradun. Sometimes travelers get confused about the name, but once they get here, they seem to like the quiet. We have a small garden in the back where I like to sit when things are slow. We don't do much advertising. People usually find us because they need a room in this specific part of town. It’s a simple operation. We change the linens, sweep the floors, and make sure there’s water in the taps. It’s not a five-star place, just a regular hotel where we try to be helpful.
