Hotel India Varanasi is located right in the Siddhagiri Bagh area, over in Sigra. If you know Varanasi, you know how these streets can be—full of life, a bit crowded, and always something going on. We've been part of this neighborhood for a long time. The building has seen many years, and it shows in some spots, but it’s solid. We aren't trying to be one of those five-star places where everything is shiny and cold. This is a place where you can actually sit down and feel at home. Our staff mostly lives nearby, so they know where to find the best tea or which rickshaw driver is honest. The lobby is usually busy with people coming and going, and sometimes it gets a little loud when there’s a crowd, but that’s just the way it is here. We keep the rooms tidy and make sure the fans and lights work. It’s a basic operation. We don't have fancy marketing people writing stuff for us. We just open the doors every morning and see who comes in. Sigra is a good spot to be in because you can get to most places easily from here. If you’re looking for a fancy hotel with gold-plated faucets, that’s not us. We’re just a regular hotel in a busy part of a very old city, doing our best to keep things running. It's not perfect, but it is real and we are here every day.
