Hotel Gonard

We’ve been over here in Rohini for a good while now. Hotel Gonard isn’t one of those massive glass buildings you see in the city center, but we keep things tidy and running. Most of the folks who stop by are just passing through Delhi or visiting family nearby. The rooms have the basics, you know, a bed and a place to sit. We spend a lot of time just keeping up with the cleaning and making sure the water is hot in the mornings. Sometimes the street gets a bit noisy, that’s just how it is in this part of town. I usually sit at the front desk most of the day, handling keys and talking to people about where to get a decent meal around the corner. It’s not fancy work, but it fills the day. We have a small kitchen area too, mostly for tea and some simple breakfast if someone asks. I’ve seen the neighborhood change a lot over the years, more shops popping up and traffic getting heavier. But inside here, it’s mostly just the same routine. We check the linens, fix a leaky tap when it happens, and try to keep the lobby looking okay. It’s a job like any other, really. We’re right here in the middle of the residential blocks, so it feels more like a house than a big corporate hotel. That suits us fine, honestly.
