Hotel Derose

Hotel Derose is situated over at C-505 in the DDA Flats of Pocket-11, Okhla Vihar. It’s a bit of a residential area, so it feels more like a home than a big commercial building. We have a few rooms set up for people who need a place to stay while they are visiting New Delhi. It is not a five-star place with marble floors, but we keep things clean and the beds are comfortable enough for a good night's sleep. The neighborhood can be a bit noisy in the evenings with families and kids playing outside, but it usually settles down once it gets dark. Most of the time, it’s just us making sure the sheets are changed and the water is running right. We spend a lot of time checking the registers and talking to whoever comes through the door. There is no big lobby, just a small space where we sit and wait for guests. Sometimes the power goes out for a few minutes, which is just how things go in this part of town. We keep a few flashlights handy for those moments. It is a simple operation run by a small crew. We don't have a big kitchen, so we usually point people toward the local spots nearby for a decent meal. It’s just a practical spot for someone looking to crash for a night or two without any fuss.
