We are located right at the Badarpur border in New Delhi, specifically in the Kasana Complex at D 66. Being on the border means there is always a lot of noise from the trucks and buses going by, but that is just part of being here. Our building isn't anything special to look at from the outside, but we keep the rooms inside ready for whoever shows up. Most of the staff has been working here for a while now, so we know the area pretty well. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in, which is just how things go in this part of town. We spend a lot of our time checking people in and out, and making sure the laundry gets done on time. The reception area is where we usually hang out when it is quiet, though it is rarely actually quiet because of the traffic outside. We don't have a big fancy lobby, just some chairs and a desk where we handle the bookings. Usually, people are just looking for a place to stay while they travel through, so we try to get them sorted without much fuss. It gets quite dusty because of the construction nearby, so there is always someone sweeping the floor or wiping down the counters. We aren't trying to be anything we're not, just a team running this unit in a busy corner of the city.
