It might seem a bit confusing, but Hotel Bw The Emerald, Mumbai actually has an office here at 540/5A Govindpuri, Kalkaji in New Delhi. Even though the name says Mumbai, we are firmly planted in the Delhi-19 area. Our spot in Govindpuri is surrounded by houses and small shops. It is a very lived-in neighborhood, and the streets are quite narrow. We use this space primarily for handling administrative tasks and booking details for the hotel. The office isn't very big, and we have to be careful with how we organize our files so we don't run out of room. We have a couple of fans that stay on all day to keep the air moving. It’s not a luxury environment like the hotel itself, but it’s where the back-end work gets done. Most of us who work here live nearby, so we walk or take a short rickshaw ride to get in. We know the neighbors, like the guy who runs the corner grocery store where we get our biscuits. Sometimes people come to the door thinking it’s a hotel they can stay at right here, and we have to explain that we just do the office work for the Mumbai location. It’s an honest, simple setup. We deal with the paperwork, talk to the main branch, and manage the daily tasks that come our way in this busy part of Kalkaji. We stay quite busy with the phones.
