Holland America Line Cruise

Our office is tucked away in East Vinod Nagar, right across from the church and the mandir. You cannot miss the place if you are anywhere near Mayur Vihar Phase 2. The building is a bit funny because it has two numbers, G-30 and G-51, which tends to confuse the delivery drivers and new visitors. We have been operating Holland America Line cruise business from this spot for quite some time. It is a regular, functional office, nothing like the giant, glamorous ships you see in the travel brochures. We have stacks of maps and paperwork lying around on most of the tables. The street outside stays pretty loud with all the traffic and the people heading to the temple. Sometimes it feels strange to talk about the ocean and cruises all day while we are sitting in the middle of a busy Delhi neighborhood. There are usually three of us here during the day. We started out small and we stayed that way because it is just easier to manage the work. Occasionally the electricity goes out for a bit, so we just sit and wait for it to come back so we can finish our emails. It is not a fancy life, but it is steady and honest work. We know the local tea seller by name and he knows exactly how we like our snacks. It is just a regular workplace doing what needs to be done.
