Holiday Mart

We've been over here in Pitampura for quite some time now. Holiday Mart is just a small office where we spend most of our days looking at maps and booking flights for people around Delhi. It gets pretty busy sometimes, especially when everyone wants to go on vacation at once. Our spot in New Delhi is easy to find if you know the area well. We started this because we liked seeing different places ourselves, and it just turned into a daily job. There are usually a few of us sitting around desks piled with papers and brochures. We don't have fancy leather chairs or a big glass building. It’s just a regular room where we drink a lot of tea and talk to customers about where they want to go next. Sometimes the internet goes slow, or the phones won't stop ringing, but we get through it. People come in from the neighborhood to ask about train tickets or cheap hotels. We try to keep things simple and honest. If a hotel is bad, we usually say so. It’s not about being a big corporation. We are just local folks helping other locals get from one place to another without too much trouble. Most of the time, we are just happy when a trip goes according to plan and nobody calls us complaining about a missed bus. That’s pretty much how it goes every day here for us.
