Uttam Nagar Arya Samaj Road is a hectic place to have a shop, but that’s where you’ll find me at J-10. The traffic is almost always blocked up outside, so I spend a lot of time watching cars crawl by. I’ve been in this spot for a while now and I know most of the other shopkeepers on the block. We usually keep an eye on each other’s places when someone needs to grab a snack. Inside, I’ve got shelves filled with phone covers of every color imaginable. I also do a lot of software updates for people who don't have good internet at home. The counter is a bit scratched up from all the phones being slid across it. I usually have some music playing on a small speaker to drown out the sound of the horns. In the winter, it’s actually quite nice, but the summers are brutal on this road. People come in just to stand under the fan for a minute while they ask for a price on a repair. I try to be honest about how long things will take because I don't want people waiting around in the heat. It’s a simple setup with a wooden chair and a workbench in the back. I usually head home quite late once the market finally starts to quiet down. That's just the way it is here.
