Harjee Industries

Our small factory is tucked away at N-34A, Gali No 10 in Anand Parbat. It’s an industrial area, so there is always the sound of machines and metal hitting metal nearby. We work on various manufacturing tasks here. The floor is concrete and usually has some oil or metal shavings on it. It’s not the cleanest environment, but that’s the nature of industrial work. We have a few machines running most of the day. The heat in Anand Parbat can be quite something during the summer months. We mostly deal with small-scale production runs. Sometimes we get a big order that keeps us working late into the night. We’ve known the guys in the neighboring units for years. We often share tools or help each other out when something breaks down. Our space is filled with raw materials and finished bits waiting to be picked up. It’s a lot of manual labor and keeping an eye on the equipment. We don't have a big front office or a receptionist. If you come by, you'll likely find us in our work clothes, probably busy with a lathe or a welding tool. It’s just straightforward work that we’ve been doing for a long time. We take things one day at a time and try to keep the machines in good shape. There isn't much rest but we like the rhythm of it all. The day ends when the work is finally done.
