Habitat World

Working at Habitat World inside the India Habitat Centre on Lodhi Road is quite an experience. If you are familiar with this part of New Delhi, you definitely know the building. It has those big brick walls and lots of open courtyard spaces. We’ve been based here for a long time now, handling all the different parts of the facility. It is a big place, and there is always something going on, whether it is a guest talk, an art exhibition, or just people coming in for a meal at the restaurants. We are right in the middle of all that daily activity. Our staff spends a lot of time walking between the various halls and the back offices. It is definitely not your typical desk job where you stay glued to one chair for eight hours. New Delhi can be incredibly loud and crowded, but the centre feels like its own little world once you step inside. We handle the room bookings, the food service, and the general upkeep of the space. It takes a lot of coordination between different departments. Sometimes things break or a schedule gets messed up at the last minute, and we have to scramble to fix it. That’s just how it goes in this business. We aren't trying to be anything we're not. We just keep the place running so people can actually use the space. Lodhi Road is a nice area too. We feel lucky to be here.
