Guddu Telecom

Down in South Avenue over at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, AG 384, things are always a bit gritty. This is a place for trucks and heavy transport, so Guddu Telecom fits right in. We aren't a boutique shop by any means. Our customers are mostly drivers and workers from the transport hub who need their phones topped up or a new charger that can survive a long haul across the country. The shop is usually open late because that's when the drivers are around. It can get pretty dusty with all the trucks moving nearby, so we are always wiping down the counter. We sell basic stuff, mostly things that are practical. You won't find the latest thousand-dollar phones here very often. We talk a lot about road conditions and tea stalls with the guys who stop by. It’s a community of people who are always on the move. I’ve spent many nights sitting here under the fluorescent lights, listening to stories from the road. We keep things simple because that’s what our customers need. If a guy is heading out on a three-day trip, he just needs a battery that works and enough balance to call home. We make sure he gets that. It’s a busy, noisy part of town, but we’ve made our own little space here at AG 384 and it works for us. We just handle the phones and let the drivers get back to work without any extra delay.
