Government

This government office is situated at Cb-7-D in Shalimar Bagh, Delhi. It is a standard building that fits right in with the rest of the neighborhood. If you walk inside, you will see rows of wooden desks and plenty of steel cupboards filled with files. The ceiling fans have been spinning for years, and they make a rhythmic clicking sound that everyone just ignores now. We spend most of our time going through documents and stamping papers. It is a place of routine where things happen at their own pace. There is usually a bit of a queue in the mornings, and the air is thick with the smell of old ink and paper. We do not have any modern decorations or fancy furniture. The chairs are the kind that have been repaired a few times over the years. Outside, Shalimar Bagh is always moving, but inside, we just stick to our tasks. The windows are often kept half-shut to keep out the afternoon glare. We have a small corner where we keep the kettle for making tea during the breaks. It is a very practical environment. There are no frills here, just people doing their daily jobs and keeping track of the records. It is the kind of place where everyone knows where every file is kept, even if it looks like a mess to someone else. We just come in, do what we need to do, and go home when the shift ends.
