Our place is at 133 Khirki Villgae, which is right by Malviya Nagaer in New Delhi. If you’ve ever walked through Khirki, you know the lanes are a bit narrow and there is always something going on. We are right in the middle of all that energy. The office itself is an old building that’s been patched up over the years. We have a few rooms that we use for different tasks. The floors are made of that grey stone that stays cool even when it’s hot outside. We don’t have a big fancy lobby. You just walk in and someone is usually there at a desk right by the door. There is a lot of paperwork because we handle a lot of different things for the group. We have these big ceiling fans that spin fast and make a rhythmic clicking sound. It’s become like background music to us. The walls have some marks where we’ve moved furniture around over the years. We aren't trying to impress anyone with the decor. It’s just where we come to work every day. Sometimes the tea man from across the street brings over a tray of glass cups. We take our breaks on the small balcony that overlooks the lane. You can see the street life moving below. It’s a very grounded way to work, right in the heart of the village area but still close to the main city.
