Gmr Indira Gandhi International Airport,New Delhi

It’s a bit of a strange situation because our name says Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, but if you look for us, you’ll actually find us way over in Jagadhri, which is in the Yamuna Nagar district of Haryana. We are located at 2404, Sector-17, in the Huda area. It’s a long way from the actual airport runways, but this is where we do our part of the work. Sector 17 is a pretty standard planned area, so the streets are a bit wider and it’s not as chaotic as the old parts of town. Our office is just a house that’s been converted into a workspace, which gives it a very lived-in feel. We don't have a big fancy lobby or security guards at the front. It’s just a door you walk through to find us sitting at our desks. We spend a lot of time on the computer or the phone, coordinating things that are happening miles away in Delhi. It feels a bit disconnected sometimes, being so far from the planes, but the work still has to happen. We have a small kitchen where we make our own tea because there aren't many shops right next to us. It’s a quiet life here in Haryana compared to the madness of a major airport. We just do our shifts, handle the paperwork, and try to keep everything organized from a distance as best as we can every day.
