Our office is over on Street No 3, at 98/04 in New Delhi 110005. Being so close to the airport operations means things never really stop for us. It is not like a regular nine-to-five job where you can just switch off and go home. There is always something happening with the flights or the ground staff that needs attention. We spend a lot of time in this building dealing with the mountain of paperwork that keeps the airport running. It is a lot of forms, signatures, and checking numbers over and over again until our eyes get tired. The street outside is usually busy with people and cars, so it is rarely quiet enough to hear yourself think. Inside, we have our desks and a lot of old filing cabinets that have been here forever. The air conditioner hums constantly to keep the Delhi heat away from the electronics. We drink way too much tea during the long shifts. It is not a glamorous job, despite what people think when they hear we work for the airport group. Most of it is just making sure the logistics are handled and that people are in the right spots at the right times. We see a lot of people coming through for meetings, looking tired from their travels. We just keep our heads down and do the work that needs doing. It is a lot of coordination and hoping the systems do not crash.
