Gmr (Dial)

Working out of 162 Desh Bandhu Appts in New Delhi isn’t like working in a typical office building. Since we are based in an apartment complex, it has a much more residential feel. Gmr (Dial) has been set up here for a while, and it’s a bit different because you have neighbors living right next door who are just going about their day. We try to keep things quiet so we don't bother anyone. The space is basically a converted flat, so it’s got a kitchen and a small balcony where we go to get some air. We deal with a lot of coordination and communication work, which means the phones are usually ringing. It’s not a fancy setup with glass walls or a lobby. It’s just us sitting in what used to be someone’s living room, trying to stay organized. Being in the Desh Bandhu area is nice because it’s a bit more peaceful than the main market areas of Delhi. We have our regulars who know us, and we know the security guards at the gate. There isn't a lot of "business talk" in our office. We mostly talk about what we’re having for lunch or how the weather is getting too hot. We focus on getting our daily tasks done without making a big fuss about it. It’s a very human way to run a business, just being part of a local apartment community while working.
