Glass Point

Glass Point is located at 973 Hamiltin Road, which is right in the thick of the Kashmere Gate city market. If you know this area, you know how tight the streets are and how much traffic there is. We deal with all kinds of glass sheets, and moving them in and out of the shop is always a bit of a gamble with the crowds outside. We have a large cutting table in the center of the room where we measure and score the glass for customers. The sound of the glass cutter is something you get used to after a few days of working here. We keep the various types of glass leaning against the walls in wooden racks. You have to be very careful where you step because there are often tiny fragments on the ground that we missed while sweeping. We wear thick gloves and heavy boots to stay safe. It's a dusty job, and by the end of the day, our clothes are covered in a fine white powder. We don't have a lot of room for a desk, so we usually just write out the bills on whatever flat surface is clear at the moment. Hamiltin Road is a loud place, with trucks constantly loading and unloading nearby. It’s not the quietest environment to work in, but we’ve gotten used to the noise over the years. We just focus on the measurements and try to be careful.
