Our place is over in Noida at the Red Flats in Sector-66. It’s flat number 43 A, and it’s where we handle everything for the hotel side of things. It’s not your usual lobby entrance since we’re working out of a flat, but it works for us and the people staying here. Mamura is a busy area, so there’s always something happening right outside the window. We spend our time managing the rooms, checking people in, and making sure the cleaning gets done. It’s a small operation, and we don’t have a big corporate team behind us. Usually, it’s just one or two of us handling the phones and the keys. The furniture is a bit older, and the hallway can be a little dim, but it’s a roof over people’s heads. We don’t put on any acts. If a lightbulb goes out, we go change it. If someone needs an extra blanket, we find one. It’s very much a day-to-day kind of business. We’ve got a little kitchen area where we make coffee, and that’s about as fancy as it gets. Most of our guests are just looking for a place to sleep while they’re in Noida for work. We keep the books in a drawer and try to stay on top of the laundry. It’s basic, honest work that keeps us busy from morning until late at night.
