Ghai Tours & Travels is located at D-102 in South Ganesh Nagar. If you know the Delhi-92 area, you know it’s a crowded place with lots of small businesses squeezed together. Our office is just a small room where we keep all the travel brochures, ticket stubs, and bus schedules. We have a couple of old desks and some plastic chairs for when people come in to ask about train tickets or car rentals for their trips. It’s not a fancy travel agency with bright neon lights or a big glass front. Most of the time, it’s just the sound of the ceiling fan and the traffic noise coming in from the street. We spend our days on the phone with drivers or looking up routes on the computer screen. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to wait a bit to get back to work, but that’s just how it is in this neighborhood. We’ve been in South Ganesh Nagar for a while, so we know most of the other shopkeepers nearby. We don’t have a marketing team or anything like that. People usually find us because they live nearby or a friend told them about us. We keep a handwritten ledger for some of the bookings and try to make sure everyone gets their tickets on time. It gets a bit dusty with the road being so close, but we clean up every morning. It is a simple setup for a local business.
