You can find us at Om Niwas in South Ganesh Nagar, which is where Shiv Kumar Gupta lives too. It’s a bit of a squeeze getting to the office because the lanes in this part of New Delhi are quite narrow and always full of scooters. We are on the ground floor, and the door is usually left open to let some air in, even if it brings in some dust from the street. We arrange holidays and travel plans for people, so our walls are covered with old posters of the Taj Mahal and beaches in Goa. The desks are old metal ones that creak whenever you lean on them. We have a lot of walk-in customers from the neighborhood who just want to ask about train tickets or cheap flights. It is a very informal place; people often stop by just to chat for a bit. We have a big ledger where we write down the daily bookings because the internet can be a bit patchy sometimes. The power goes out once in a while, and we just use our phone torches to find the paperwork. It’s a busy little office with papers everywhere and a constant stream of tea being served.
