Our unit is N-129 in Sector-1 of the Dsiidc Industrial Area in Bawana. If you've ever been to Bawana, you know it’s a huge place with thousands of factories. It’s very easy to get lost, so we tell people to look for the Sector-1 signs near the main entry. At Geeplast India, we work with plastics. The smell of melting plastic is something you get used to pretty quickly after a few days. We have rows of machines and bags of raw materials stacked up to the ceiling. It’s not a quiet place. The machines hum and hiss all day long. We have a small office upstairs where we handle the bills and phone calls. It’s usually a bit dusty because of all the movement and trucks outside. We hire people from the local area. Most of the staff has been here for years and we know them well. We aren't interested in being some big corporate entity. We just want to make sure the parts we make are decent and the orders go out on time. The trucks come in the evening to pick up the crates. We spend a lot of time checking the molds. Sometimes they get stuck or the temperature isn't right, and we have to spend hours tweaking things. It’s just regular factory life. We go home tired but it’s a good kind of work for us.
