C-97 in Partap Vihar is where we spend most of our waking hours. Kirari Suleman Nagar is a maze of streets, and finding Part-3 can be a bit of a challenge for people who are not from around here. We are Gammon Logistics, but do not let the name make you think of a giant warehouse with robots. It is more about a group of us in Delhi-86 trying to make sure goods get from point A to point B without too much trouble. The office is tucked away, and we share the lane with local shops and houses. There is always someone unloading a small van or checking a manifest. It is noisy and sometimes the air is thick with the smell of diesel and nearby cooking. We handle a lot of the local transport stuff that keeps the city running. Our desks are covered in old receipts and logbooks. We do not use much fancy software; a lot of it is still done by hand or on basic spreadsheets. The tea stalls nearby are where we do most of our networking and talking to drivers. It is a tight-knit community here in Kirari. We know the local drivers and the shortcuts to avoid the worst of the Delhi traffic. It is not a glamorous job, but someone has to stay on top of the logistics in this part of town. We just keep our heads down and work. The fan in the office makes a clicking sound, but we have gotten used to it.
