G K Industries

We operate G K Industries out of a plot in Jagat Ram Market, which is part of the Lakshmi Nagar area. Specifically, we are at Plot No L/100 on Vikas Marg. It is a very crowded part of town, and the traffic outside is almost never quiet. Inside our space, it is even louder because of the machinery we use. We do small-scale industrial work, mostly involving metal pressing and some basic fabrication. It is not a clean environment; there is oil on the floors and metal shavings in the corners that we sweep up at the end of the day. We have been in this spot for a long time, and the walls have turned a bit grey from all the smoke and dust over the years. My brother and I manage the daily work, along with a few helpers who know the machines well. We don't have a reception desk or a fancy office area. If someone wants to talk to us, they usually just shout over the noise or wait until we turn a machine off. We eat our lunch on a small wooden table in the back. Sometimes the power goes out, which is frustrating, but we just wait it out. It is tough work and our clothes are always stained with grease, but this is how we have always done things. We just focus on finishing the jobs that come in.
