Friends Holidays

We are over at No. 5/320 on the first floor in Khichdipur. Friends Holidays is basically just a local spot where we help the neighborhood folks plan their getaways. The office is small and tucked away, so you have to look for the stairs to come up. It isn't a corporate setup at all, just some desks and a few old chairs for guests. Most of our day is taken up by phone calls and looking up bus or flight timings. Khichdipur is a lively place, so there is always something happening outside the window. We started this because we wanted to work for ourselves and we knew a lot about travel routes. We don't use any fancy software, just the usual websites and a lot of patience. Sometimes customers come in just to ask for advice on where to go, and we sit and talk for a bit. It feels more like a community spot than a business office. We have a lot of regular clients who have been coming to us for years. We handle the paperwork, print out the tickets, and make sure everyone knows their departure times. We mostly work with domestic trips, but once in a while, someone wants to go further away and we have to do extra research. The printer always seems to run out of ink at the wrong moment, which is a bit of a hassle. We keep some magazines on the table for people to look at while they wait. Khichdipur is where we grew up.
