I operate out of my place at 170, Munirka, in New Delhi. The pin code is 110067, and if you've ever been through this area, you know it's always packed with people and small shops. Being a freelancer isn't exactly like having a big company name behind you. It’s mostly just me sitting in my room with a laptop trying to get through the work for the day. I don't have a fancy office in a glass building or a receptionist to take calls. My desk is usually covered in papers and coffee mugs that I forget to wash. Munirka is a bit loud because of the traffic and the neighbors, but it's home and it's where I get things done. I take on different kinds of jobs depending on what people need at the moment. Some weeks I have too much work and I barely sleep, and then other times I’m just waiting for something to happen. I don't really have a big plan or a corporate vision. I just try to do a decent job so people come back to me later. It’s a simple life, honestly. I don't use any special software to track my time, I just write it down in a notebook. Working from New Delhi has its challenges, especially with the power cuts sometimes, but you just learn to work around it and keep moving forward with whatever project is on the table.
