Freelancer

I’m working as a freelancer right now out of 004 Narmada Hostel. This is inside the JNU campus, which is a big area to navigate. It’s not a traditional office by any means, just my room where I keep my laptop, my chargers, and all my books. Being in a hostel means there’s always noise in the hallways or someone knocking on the door to borrow something, but it’s where I get my work done. I handle various projects as they come in. JNU is a busy place, and Narmada is just one part of the student housing. My space is small, basically just a desk and a chair squeezed in next to the bed. I spend a lot of time on the internet looking for new gigs or finishing up tasks for people. It’s a bit of a scramble sometimes, balancing the freelance work with the rest of my schedule. I don’t have a big team or a company structure. It’s just me. Sometimes the campus Wi-Fi is great, and other times I’m stuck using my phone's hotspot to send files. I’ve been doing this for a bit now. It’s a practical way to earn some money while being here on campus. People usually reach me through email or phone because there isn't exactly a lobby for them to wait in. It’s a simple life, just trying to meet deadlines and find new work from this little corner of the hostel. No fancy stationery or business cards, just me and my computer. Every day is a bit different but I manage to get everything done.
