Forever Communications

Govindpuri is a maze of streets, and we are tucked away at 1340 B 18. It’s a residential area that has slowly turned into a place full of small businesses like ours. The shop isn't hard to find once you know the landmark of the main lane. We have a heavy iron door that we open up every day. Inside, the walls are lined with all kinds of stuff related to phones and communication. It’s not the most organized looking place, but I know exactly where everything is located. I spend a lot of my time at the workbench under a magnifying lamp. Some days are slow, and I just sit and watch the neighborhood kids playing outside. Other days, we have a line of people out the door before we’ve even had our morning coffee. We try to treat everyone fairly and explain what’s wrong with their gear without using too many big words. The air in the shop usually smells a bit like solder and old plastic. It’s a familiar scent to me now. We’ve seen the street change over the years, with new shops opening and old ones closing down. We just keep doing our thing at number 18. When the sun goes down, the street gets a bit darker and we turn on the overhead tubes. We finish up the last few jobs and head home ourselves.
